Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a median nerve condition which results in numbness, weakness and even loss of control of the hand. The median nerve, which runs along the length of arm, goes through a channel in your wrist called the carpal tunnel.
With carpal tunnel syndrome, the median nerve gets strained and the patient’s fingers will start to get numb. The pinky is the only exception because the median nerve controls feeling and movement for the first 4 fingers.
As the condition gets worse, one may feel extreme pain in their wrist(s) and may also experience a loss in grip strength. The median nerve gets damaged and this leads to slower nerve impulses, diminished strength and poor hand-eye coordination.
The common root cause of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is performing a repeated motion over a prolonged period of time. The syndrome is most common amongst professional gamers and assembly line workers
